In December 2013, more than 20 million students across the globe participated in Code.org’s Hour of Code. This event allowed students to try their hand at coding through easy to follow tutorials. The Hour of Code also prompted educator and policymaker discussion about how to provide students with greater access to computer science education.
The Washington Education Innovation Forum is hosted by the University of Washington’s Center on Reinventing Public Education, with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
