Dr. Michael Goetz is a project director, researcher, and implementation specialist with a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. My work focuses on translating complex policy and research into measurable impact across the criminal legal, behavioral health, and education systems. He currently serves as an Implementation Researcher for the HEALing Communities Study at the University of Kentucky.
This working paper shows that many districts have accelerated student learning by reallocating funds to emphasize targeted assistance to students, fewer non-instructional burdens on teachers, greater use of instructional technology, coaching for teachers, and class size reduction targeted on core classes only.
