Dr. Clinton has over 20 years of experience in designing and executing sociological research. She has extensive experience working to bridge the worlds of research and practice by serving as a qualitative research lead and project director on a variety of initiatives. Her work focuses on identifying systemic and cultural barriers to educational equity. Through partnerships and collaborations with state, local, and federal agencies and stakeholders, Clinton uses primarily qualitative research methodologies to design, implement, and test strategies for advancing equity in K-12 and higher education and make evidence-based decisions about programs, policies, and practices designed to advance improved student outcomes. Clinton holds a PhD and MA in Sociology from the University of Michigan and a BA in Sociology and American Studies from Wesleyan University.
