AI IN EDUCATION

CHARTING THE EMERGING LANDSCAPE

The world is changing rapidly. Generative AI poses serious risks and opportunities for today’s students. Their future depends on how well we prepare them to lead and solve complex problems.

To do that, we must equip educators, system leaders, and policymakers to navigate and harness AI—both to prepare students for a changing job market and to tackle persistent challenges in public education. This moment demands bold leadership and swift action.

AI is already reshaping K–12 education. The field urgently needs timely research to help manage risks—such as bias, access, and academic integrity—while exploring how AI might improve instruction, reframe educator roles, and support better outcomes. The longer we wait, the less prepared our students will be.
